About Academics
What the Academics module is for and the usual order to set it up.
Academics is where school admins describe how the school is organised. Once classes, subjects, bell times and grading are in place, the rest of the app (attendance, results, homework, fees) has something to work with. Teachers do their daily work in Teaching, and admins run the day-to-day classroom under LMS.
The usual order of work
- Add the academic year and its terms (Academic years & terms).
- Add your grade names and section names (Grade & section names).
- Add your subjects and say which grades study each one (Subjects).
- Create the classes for the year: one grade plus one section, with a class teacher (Classes).
- Set up bell times, then build each class's weekly plan (Bell times, Class timetable).
- Set up the grading scheme (Grading scheme or Grading rules).
- Add clubs and activities if your school runs them (Programs, Instructors, Activities).
