A security deposit is money the school holds for a student. The line at the top says how much is held and for how many students.

The four boxes

  • Held: deposits the school still has.
  • Refunded: returned to the family.
  • Used against dues: kept to pay what the family owed.
  • Kept by school: not refunded.
  • Click a box to list those deposits. Each box shows the amount and the count.

Record a deposit

  1. Select Record a deposit. Only people who collect payments see it.
  2. Search for the student by name or roll number and pick them.
  3. Enter the Amount.
  4. Select Record deposit.

What you can do with a held deposit

  • Refund: enter the Amount to refund, all or part, then Record refund.
  • Use against dues: marks the deposit as used up against what the family owes.
  • Keep: the school keeps it and it is not refunded.
  • Download: exports the list as Excel or PDF.
