About Fees
What the Fees module is for, who uses it and the usual order of work.
Fees is where the school bills families and gets paid. You set up fee types and amounts, create a bill (an invoice) for each student, record payments when families pay, and follow up with those who are late. Discounts, corrections, security deposits and refunds for leaving students are handled here too.
School admins see all of it. A custom role can be given only some of it: viewing, collecting payments, managing fee setup, approving adjustments and refunds, or exporting reports. Parents see their own child's bills in their own Fees page.
The usual order of work
- Set up: add the fee types and amounts for each grade under Fee types & amounts.
- Bill: create bills for a grade and a month under Fee bills.
- Collect: take payments under Collect fees, and print receipts.
- Follow up: check Who owes fees and set up Fee reminders.
- Adjust: discounts, late fees and corrections, each with its own page.
- Leave: when a student leaves, Refunds when leaving works out the refund or the amount still owed.
