About Teaching

What the Teaching menu is for and how a teacher uses it day to day.

2 min readTeachingFor: Teacher

Teaching is the menu teachers see. It shows only your own classes, students and timetable, so you are never searching through the whole school. Most pages here are the same pages school admins use, narrowed to the classes you teach.

A usual day

  1. Open Today to see your lessons and which registers still need marking.
  2. Check in on My attendance when you arrive.
  3. Tap Mark on Today (or open Mark attendance) for each class you teach.
  4. After a lesson, set Homework, post to the class or upload Materials.
  5. Enter marks when an exam or test is ready to record.
  6. Check out on My attendance when you leave.

Pages only teachers have

  • Today: your lessons, registers still to mark and quick actions.
  • My timetable: your week across every class, whether you lead or co-teach.
  • My students: the students of the classes you teach, each linking to a profile.
  • My attendance: check in and out, and see your own month.
  • My leave: ask for time off and follow the decision.

Pages shared with the rest of the school

  • My classes: open a class to post updates and see its work.
  • Mark attendance: take the daily register for a class.
  • Enter marks: record marks for your subjects.
  • Homework: set and review homework for all your classes.
  • Materials: share notes and files with a class.
  • Online classes: schedule and join live lessons.
  • Quizzes: make quizzes that students answer online.
  • Noticeboard: read and write school posts.
  • Messages: write to the office, colleagues and parents.
  • Parent meetings: see meeting bookings.
  • Notices, Letters and School policies: read what the school has sent or published.
