About Setup
What the Setup module is for and the order to use its pages in.
Setup holds the things you change rarely but everything else depends on: your school details, your campuses and rooms, the people who can sign in and the permissions each role has. It is used by school administrators. Some pages can be opened by anyone with the setup view permission, but only people with the permission to manage school setup and roles can add, edit or delete anything.
The usual order of work
- Fill in the School profile: name, logo, email, address and phone.
- Add your Campuses. Every class, student and teacher belongs to a campus.
- Add Rooms & buildings so the timetable can assign rooms.
- Add Houses if your school runs inter-house competitions.
- Add people under Users & logins, or bring many at once with Import from a file.
- Check Roles & access so each kind of person can do only what they should.
- Come back to Who changed what whenever you need to know who did something.
