Delete a custom role

Remove a role nobody uses.

Only custom roles with no members can be deleted.

The Roles & access page in the Setup area, as a school admin sees it: what each role is allowed to do, and how to make your own roles.

Steps

Open Setup → Users & logins.
Move everyone with the role to another role.
Open Setup → Roles & access.
Select the delete icon on the role card.
Confirm.

Common questions

There is no delete icon.

The role is Locked or System, or it still has members.
