Why can't I delete an assignment from the list

An assignment with handed-in work is deleted from its own page.

The list refuses to delete an assignment that has submissions. This stops accidents.

LMS, Assignments: counts of assignments and submissions, a search box and a table of homework with its class, subject and due date.

What to do

Select the assignment's title to open it.
Select Edit details.
Select Delete assignment.
Confirm. The assignment and its submissions are removed.
