Today's halaqa

What you see on this page

• Halaqa: a list of your halaqat with how many students are recorded, for example (3/12). It only shows when you have more than one halaqa. Ustaads see their own halaqat. Admins see all of them.
• Date: the day you are recording. It starts as today. Pick an earlier date to fill in or fix a past day. You cannot pick a future date.
• A progress bar that says how many students are recorded, and All done for today when everyone is.
• One card per student with three small badges (Sabaq, Sabqi, Manzil) that show Passed or Repeat once a lesson is saved.
• Attendance buttons on each card: Present, Late, Absent and Excused.
• A status next to the buttons: Saving, Saved or Not saved.

Record a student's day

1. Choose the halaqa and the date if they are not already right.
2. Tap the student's name to open their card. If the halaqa has only one student, the card is already open.
3. Press Present, Late, Absent or Excused.
4. For each lesson (Sabaq, Sabqi, Manzil), choose the From surah and ayah and the To surah and ayah.
5. Use the Mistakes counter (the minus and plus buttons) and tap a Rating from 1 to 5 if you want to. Add a Note (optional) of up to 500 characters.
6. Press Passed if the student did well, or Repeat if they need to do the lesson again. The lesson saves.
7. Press Next student to move on.

How the lesson fields behave

• Suggested from last time: the form is filled in for you. For Sabaq it continues after the furthest ayah the student has passed, for the daily target (5 ayahs if no target is set), and never runs past the end of the surah. If the last Sabaq was sent back to Repeat, it suggests the same portion again. For Sabqi and Manzil it repeats the last portion revised. A suggestion is not saved until you press Passed or Repeat.
• From and To: pick a surah, then type the ayah number. The ayah is kept within the surah's length. The start must come before the end.
• Mistakes: from 0 to 99.
• Rating: 1 to 5. Tap the same number again to clear it.
• Clear: shows once a lesson is saved. It removes that lesson for the day.
• Marked absent for this lesson: shown when a lesson has an Absent result. The portion fields are hidden.

Attendance and being recorded

• A student counts as recorded once any lesson is saved, or when they are marked Absent or Excused.
• If you save a lesson before choosing attendance, the student is marked Present for you.
• Absent and Excused students have no lesson forms: their card closes and cannot be opened.
