Attendance rules
Set the working days, the low and good attendance cut-offs and the alerts.
Open in InsplyThese rules apply to the whole school. They decide which days need a register, who is flagged as low attendance and who is told about it. Only people allowed to edit attendance (school admins) can change them; others see the values but the fields are switched off.
Attendance thresholds
- Low-attendance % (at risk): students below this percentage are listed as low attendance. The default is 75.
- Good-attendance % (healthy): the percentage at or above which attendance counts as healthy. The default is 90.
- Consecutive-absent flag (days): how many school days in a row count as a streak. The default is 3. The box is greyed out when the flag below is switched off.
- Working days: tap Mon to Sun to switch each day on or off. Registers can only be taken on the days that are on. If you switch every day off, the school is treated as Monday to Friday.
Alerts and notifications (switches)
- Flag consecutive absences: turns the streak list on or off. It feeds Today at a glance and the Consecutive absences report.
- Notify class teachers: email the class teacher when a student drops below the low-attendance cut-off.
- Notify parents: tell parents when their child has an unmarked absence.
- Notify students: remind a student on their portal after repeated lateness.
