Noticeboard

Read notices from the school, and write or approve them if you are allowed to.

Open in Insply

The Noticeboard holds short notices and posts for staff, parents and students. Teachers, parents and students open it from Home. School staff open it from Communication. It is the same page either way.

What you see on this page

  • Status pills at the top, such as All 12, Published 9 and Draft 2. Click one to filter. They show only when there is something to filter.
  • A Post a notice button on the right, if you can write notices.
  • A list of cards, newest first. Each card shows the author, how long ago it was posted, who it is for, its status and a Post label. Then the picture, video or file, and the message.
  • Page links at the bottom when there are many posts.
  • Nothing here yet when there are no posts.

What you can see depends on your role. School admins see every post in every status. Everyone else sees published posts addressed to their group (or to everyone), plus their own drafts and posts waiting for approval, so a teacher can see where a submitted notice stands.

Write a notice

  1. Click Post a notice. The writing form opens.
  2. Type an optional Title (a short headline, up to 160 characters).
  3. Write your Message. You can format the text.
  4. Optionally add Pictures, video or file. You can add up to 25 pictures and videos in any mix, or one audio file, YouTube or Vimeo link or PDF. An audio file, PDF or link cannot be mixed with other attachments. Audio and video play right in the post.
  5. Under Audience, tick who should see it: Parents, Students, Staff, Teachers. Leave all unticked for everyone.
  6. Choose how to save. Save draft keeps it private. Submit for approval sends it to a school admin (this is what teachers see). School admins see Publish now instead, plus Schedule.
  7. To schedule, pick a date and time under Schedule for (optional), then click Schedule. The time must be in the future and uses the school's clock. The notice goes live by itself at that time.

Approve, publish or reject a notice (school admins)

  1. Find the card. Pending, Draft and Scheduled posts show action icons at the bottom right.
  2. For a Pending post, click Approve to publish it. For a Draft or Scheduled post, click Publish to publish it now.
  3. Click Reject on a Pending post to turn it down. You are asked to confirm. A rejected post is not published, and the author is not asked to resubmit.
  4. Click the pencil to edit the title, message, attachments, audience or schedule time. Click the bin to delete it. Deleting cannot be undone.

What the statuses mean

  • Draft: saved but not shared. Only the author and school admins see it.
  • Pending: waiting for a school admin to approve it.
  • Scheduled: will publish by itself at the time you chose.
  • Published: live for its audience.
  • Rejected: turned down by a school admin.

Common questions

I submitted a notice. Where did it go?

It shows on this page, marked Pending, until a school admin approves or rejects it. Only you and school admins can see it before then.

Can I attach more than one file?

You can attach up to 25 pictures and videos together. An audio file, a YouTube or Vimeo link, or a PDF, must be on its own.
