Homework shows every item set for your child's class. Some items are handed in online and some are done on paper. Your child can also hand in their own work from their student login; this page does the same for you.

What you see on the list

  • The heading says how many items are still to hand in.
  • To hand in: items not yet submitted. Each shows the title, subject, when it is due (for example due tomorrow or overdue), whether it is optional, and whether it is handed in online or on paper.
  • Done: items already handed in, with the marks once they are marked.
  • Pages: both lists are split into pages if there are many items.

Statuses

  • To do: not handed in yet and not past its due date.
  • Overdue: not handed in and the due date has passed.
  • Handed in: submitted and waiting for the teacher.
  • Marked: the teacher has given marks.
  • No due date: the teacher set no deadline.

Open an item and hand it in online

  1. Select the item on the list. Use All homework to go back.
  2. Read the Details: subject, teacher, topic, due date, Max marks and whether it counts toward the grade. Read the Instructions.
  3. If the item has questions, answer them under Answer the questions. The counter shows how many are done.
  4. If the item has no questions, select Take a photo or choose a file, or choose Or paste a link instead and enter a link to the work.
  5. Select Submit answers (questions) or Hand in (a file).

Question types you may meet

  • One answer and Many answers: pick one option, or tick all that apply.
  • True / false: choose True or False.
  • Short answer and Essay: type your answer. Short answers are up to 300 characters and essays up to 5000.
  • Number: type a number. A unit may be shown beside the box.
  • Fill in the blanks: type the missing words in the gaps.
  • Matching: choose the matching item for each line from the drop-down.
  • Ordering: use the up and down arrows to put items in order. If the order is already right, select This order is right.
  • File upload: attach a PDF or a JPG, PNG or WebP image under 15 MB, or an audio or video file (MP3, M4A, WAV, MP4, WebM or MOV) under 150 MB, up to 5 files, or paste a link.

After handing in

  • Submission shows when it was handed in and the marks, or Awaiting marking.
  • For question items, each question shows the answer given, the correct answer where it applies, and the score.
  • View submitted work opens the file that was handed in.
  • Teacher feedback shows any comment the teacher wrote.
  • Done on paper: for paper tasks, follow the instructions and give the work to the teacher in class.
